Google+ Coca Cola vending machines bring people together in innovative project ~ Asiatic PR ایشیاٹک پبلک ریلیشنز

COCA Cola has today released the heart-warming results of an innovative project in which vending machines were used as portals to connect citizens from the divided nations of India and Pakistan over three days in March.

And the so-called Small World Machines experiment has an Australian connection: It was the brainchild of local creative agency Leo Burnett and overseen by chief creative officer Andy DiLallo.

The project used drink vending machines equipped with cameras and 3D touch screen technology streaming a live video feed, which enabled passers-by in the two countries to virtually interact.

Users were prompted to complete a task together in real-time, to wave, to dance, to touch hands or to draw a heart shape. If they did, they each got a free can of drink.

More than 10,000 people in the two countries participated and the resulting three-minute video, released today via YouTube, captures the highlights of their interactions with each other.
