HBL Asset jubilates in the MUFAP Final T-20 Cricket Match Tournament winning gloriously by 9 wickets. Captain of the team Mr.Rehan N.Shaikh (in centre) proudly holds the trophy high.
Mutual Funds Association of Pakistan (MUFAP), the trade body for Pakistan's multi billion rupees asset management industry had arranged a series of T-20 cricket matches from December 2012 till February 2013. 

HBL Asset Management Ltd. had successfully reached the finals against NAFA, which was held in National Stadium on February 23, 2013. Captain of the team, Mr. Rehan Shaikh after having lost the toss, led his team for the fielding with indomitable confidence. Although NAFA managed to attain a decent score of 144 runs in 20 overs, however that proved to be insufficient before formidable batting line up of HBL Asset. HBL Asset sailed through the required target in 15th over with the loss of one wicket only. 

Openers of the team, Mr. Amir Khan and Mr.Emmad Hashmi with their remarkable batting, and show of stroke play formed a promising partnership and led the cumulative score to more than 100. NAFA could only manage to take one HBL wicket when Mr. Amir Khan was caught in the deep at the time when the victory celebrations had already started in HBL camp. Mr. Rehan Shaikh, captain of HBL team was declared ‘Best All Rounder of the Series” having scored 220 runs with an impressive batting average of 73.33 throughout the series. Mr. Emmad Hashmi who scored brilliant match winning 92 runs was declared “Man of the Match”. Mr. Emmad made 228 runs with an impressive batting average of 45.60 runs during the tournament. Mr. Nadir Akbar of HBL Asset was declared the “Best Wicket Keeper of the series”. Other players making notable contributions for HBL towards winning the first edition of MUFAP T20 included Mr. Maqbool Ahmed who scored 201 runs at an average of 50.25, Mr. Adil Nawaz who took 9 wickets and Mr. Abdul Rehman who scored 155 runs during the tournament. 

Renowned personalities from corporate and cricketing world graced the occasion. The prizes were distributed by Mr. Wazir Ali Khoja, Chairman National Investment Trust and Mr. Hanif Jakhura, CEO Central Depository Company. Large numbers of spectators were also there in the ground to boost the morale of both teams. 

Undoubtedly, this tournament has been a big success in the industry with the participation of all asset management companies who will be continuing the trend of such events.
