Coca-Cola donates CBC machines for dengue diagnosis to Sahara Trust

Lahore, 1^st November, 2011: The Coca-Cola Company, the world’s largest beverage company, has donated seven Complete Blood Count (CBC) machines to Sahara Trust for the early diagnosis of dengue. Sahara Trust will collaborate with the Government of Punjab to install these machines at designated government hospitals and laboratories. 

The CBC machines perform an essential task in dengue diagnosis, as they separate the platelets from the blood and determine the platelet count, which is the conclusive test for diagnosing dengue. Timely diagnosis using the machines will help in proper treatment and even save precious lives.

Speaking on the occasion Rizwan U. Khan, General Manager The Coca-Cola Export Corporation Pakistan and Afghanistan said,” Coca-Cola feels its responsibility as a corporate member of the society to rise to every occasion when the people of the province and the country need help and assistance. Diagnosis and treatment of dengue is vital in order to stop the spread of the disease. Coca-Cola through this donation intends to help the government and Sahara Trust in their efforts to eradicate dengue.”

Dengue has claimed 337 precious lives in the province of Punjab and many more cases are being reported daily. Government resources are being stretched to their limit and it is important that companies from the private sector and NGOs come forward to support the health system in the province.

Renowned music star and philanthropist Abrar-ul-Haq commenting on Coca-Cola’s donation,  said “what we need is a holistic campaign to eradicate dengue from the province. Coca-Cola’s contribution will further strengthen the government’s efforts. Sahara Trust is partnering both with the company and Punjab government to install these seven machines at government hospitals to add to government’s resources and help alleviate the dengue crisis.”

ڈینگی کی تشخیص کے لئے کوکا کولا کی جانب سے سہارا ٹرسٹ کو سی بی سی مشینوں کاعطیہ

لاہور ، 01  نومبر ، 2011 :  دنیا کی سب سے بڑی مشروب ساز کمپنی ، کوکا کولا نے سہارا ٹرسٹ کو ڈینگی کی ابتدائی تشخیص کے لئے 7خون کی مکمل  گنتی کرنے والی (CBC . Complete Blood Count) مشینوں کا عطیہ دیاہے۔ سہارا ٹرسٹ نامزد سرکاری اسپتالوں اور لیبارٹریوں میں ان مشینوں نصب کو کرنے کے لئے پنجاب کی حکومت کے ساتھ تعاون کرے گا۔

CBC مشینیں ڈینگی کی تشخیص میں ایک اہم کام سر انجام دیتی ہیں ، جیسا کہ انہوں نے خون سے پلیٹلیٹس علیحدہ اور پلیٹلیٹ کے شمار کا تعین کرتی ہیں، جو ڈینگی کی تشخیص کے لئے حتمی ٹیسٹ ہے۔ بروقت مشینوں کا استعمال کرتے ہوئے بہترتشخیص اور مناسب علاج میں مدد ملے گی اور قیمتی جانوں کو بھی بچا یا جا سکے گا۔

اس موقع پر خطاب کرتے ہوئے رضوان یو۔خان، جنرل منیجر کوکا کولا ایکسپورٹ کارپوریشن پاکستان اور افغانستان نے کہا کہ "کوکا کولا کو معاشرے کے ایک کارپوریٹ رکن کی حیثیت سے اپنی ذمہ داری کا احساس ہے کہ جب بھی صوبے کے عوام اور ملک کو مدد اور تعاون کی ضرورت ہو۔  ڈینگی بخار کی تشخیص اور علاج ضروری ہے تاکہ اس بیماری کو پھیلنے سےکو روکا جاسکے۔  کوکا کولا اس عطیہ کے ذریعہ ڈینگی بخار کے خاتمہ  کی کوششوں میں حکومت اور سہارا ٹرسٹ کی مدد کا ارادہ کیا ہے۔ "

ڈینگی بخار نے صوبہ پنجاب میں 337 قیمتی جانیں لے چکی ہے اور بہت زیادہ کیسز روزانہ رپورٹ کئے جا رہے ہیں ۔ حکومت کے وسائل محدود ہیں اور یہ ضروری ہے کہ نجی شعبے کی کمپنیاں اور غیر سرکاری تنظیمیں کو آگے آکرصوبے میں صحت کے نظام کی حمایت کرنا چاہئے  ۔

معروف موسیقی سٹار اورسماجی کارکن ابرار الحق  نے کوکاکولا کی عطیات پر تبصرہ کرتے ہوئے کہاکہ "ہمیں صوبے سے ڈینگی کے خاتمے کے لئے ایک جامع  مہم  کی ضرورت ہے ۔ کوکا کولا کی یہ شراکت حکومت کی کوششوں کو مزید مضبوط کریگی۔سہارا ٹرسٹ کمپنی اور حکومت پنجاب کے شریک کار کے طور پر سرکاری ہسپتالوں میں ان سات مشینوں کونصب کرے گا تاکہ ڈینگی کے خاتمے میں حکومت کے وسائل میں اضافہ ہوسکے۔ "
