Karachi, August 26, 2010 – Boeing has announced it will donate $50,000 to the American Red Cross to help victims of the recent flooding in Pakistan. The company is also collecting voluntary donations from its employees to be given to the American Red Cross in support of the recovery efforts.

The Red Cross estimates that more than 12 million people have been affected by the massive flooding, which stretches for more than 600 miles along the Indus River in Pakistan.
"We recognize that thousands of people are suffering and homeless as a result of the torrential rains and flooding," said Anne Roosevelt, vice president of Global Corporate Citizenship. "These funds will be used by the American Red Cross to supply food and items such as tarps and blankets to those hardest hit by this unprecedented natural disaster."

Boeing, through its Global Corporate Citizenship organization, supports disaster response around the world in partnership with nongovernmental agencies, nonprofits and others as well as its employees and retirees through a variety of ways, including cash contributions, volunteer efforts and in-kind donations.
